Inspiration: The inspiration for this poem is today, Good Friday. The crucifixion and subsequent resurrection of Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of the Christian Faith. It is through this victory of Christ, who Satan and death could not defeat, that we ground our faith, hope and victory. Of all things in life, this sacrifice of the perfect Lamb of God, and how we respond to it, is the most important of any decision we will ever make, for both now and eternity. If you have not heard the good news of Christ, today is a good time to pick up that Bible and read about it in one the Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke or John.
Theme: Growth, Pain, Triumph.
Victorious.
In every circumstance a life that is humble,
Yet through Christ made glorious,
Onward everyday, though I stumble,
To a calling and election made sure,
Encircled with eternal protection.
Through Christ I am victorious.
Who could ask for more?
And through each day,
And along the way,
For guidance I will ask,
For strength and courage,
To fulfill my earthly task.
Though I be faint and weary,
Oft times burdened down,
The way need not be dreary,
No need to wear a frown.
For on the other shore I see,
A throng waiting there to greet me,
Those who have run and won the race,
Redeemed and made whole by His Grace,
They have seen the Saviour’s face,
Robed in purity’s radiant gown,
Servants, wearing the Master’s crown.
